Hypertext

Hypertext is the bit of text that when clicked on, brings you to a new page or source of information.

Image result for hypertext

  • creates a new text in itself
  • allows the reader to control their reading experience
  • challenges the traditional idea of linear reading by encouraging readers to take nonlinear paths
    • sometimes hyperlinks allow readers to get lost within pages and never return to the original text
  • encourages tangible mediums

Double Content

When creating a remediation of texts, be careful not to duplicate the original text into a different medium.

Ways to remediate include:

  • hyperlinks
  • images
  • videos
  • fonts
  • colors
  • layouts
  • sound
  • headings
